Holly Peters - Paper Art

Holly Peters studied printmaking and Japanese language at an art university in Tokyo. While there, she learned the art of Japanese kirigami. Kirigami translates to “cutting paper.”

The basic elements of Ms. Peters' compositions are papercuts, which are collaged together to create a composition. This composition is then developed digitally for color and texture.

Once the design is just what Holly wants, she creates the three-dimensional form that is then used to create the foldout. She uses a lasercutter in production.

Each card and artwork is made by hand.

Holly has a variety of motives - she is inspired by nature - both botanical and animals in particular - their intelligence, grace and light.
