A spectacular Flower Painting in a style that is unmistakingly Brooke Howie's.
Brooke Howie painted three vases full of flowers on a french countrystyle table cloth. Throughout her other paintings, this is one of two(?) that show more than one Flower Bouquet.
The intricate and very detailed art work on the first flower vase (the one of the far left in white) reminds me of Louis XIV, the Province and Tuscany. Ms. Howie used very fine and tiny brush strokes to create the beautiful design on the vase.
The second vase is a simple clear flower vase, filled with two Calla Lilis and surrounded by green leaves. The leaves are another signature artwork by Brooke Howie: she surrounds her flower bouquets with long and slender leaves, always painting with strong brush strokes using dark green colors.
The Sunflowers in the last vase again can be easily recognized as a Brooke Howie style: Her sunflowers always have pointed yellow flower petals, multi-color seeds in the middle and surrounded by fresh green leaves. The vase itself is also a french countrystyle motif: Yellow flowers like the ones in her "Wimsical" Flower Bouquet Painting Series.
The tablecloth represents the popular French countrystyle - thoughts of sunfilled days in Tuscany or in the Province come to mind. The table cloth has a variety of different designs -as you look closely, you will see that some of her tiny designs repeat itself either on a vase or as part of a flower bouquet.
Brooke Howie's Flower Paintings are often on a table covered with tablecloth resembling this style. Again, this is another one of her styles that only she can create.
This Flower Painting is one of just a few pierce of original art that Brooke Howie painted using oil paint.
